Savene® (dexrazoxane) has a unique dual mechanism of action: 1/ Inhibition of DNA topoisomerase II
Savene® inhibits DNA topoisomerase II, the target of anthracycline chemotherapy. Savene® binds to DNA topoisomerase II at a different step in the catalytic cycle than anthracyclines[4][5][6]. This locks the enzyme in a form that is no longer affected by anthracyclines.
